Rosie founded Budding Rose Productions in July 2017. Rosie enjoys bringing new writing to life for the first time, as well as shaking up Shakespeare. Recently Rosie produced and directed our latest production, Drag Me Out ‘performed with depth and sensitivity by a brilliant young ensemble’. Excited for the spring project, Rosie will be directing several showcases and workshopping new writing until the new spring play is ready for rehearsals. Georgie is a poet, playwright, performer and digital content producer. He is an alumnus of Soho Theatre’s Writers Lab and HighTide’s Writers Group and currently works at Chichester Festival Theatre. He has had two full length plays produced in venues such as Tristan Bates Theatre and Hen and Chickens and a number of his shorter pieces have been showcased as part of new writing nights. In 2018, he completed Theatre Deli’s “28 plays later” challenge which requires a writer to complete a play a day for the entire month of February. He has led several creative writing projects with young people from a variety of backgrounds and with additional needs in several regional theatres.
Janice co-wrote the feature film Retreat, a dark psychological thriller released by Sony Pictures, starring Thandie Newton, Cillian Murphy and Jamie Bell. Her plays have been staged across the London new writing circuit, from Theatre503 to Rich Mix. They include Meeting Roman Polanski, Game Over, Smashed, ByLines and the award-winning Loot! She also wrote and directed Bump in the Night, a spooky farce that reached the final of the Neil Simon Playwriting Contest 2017. She was selected for the BBC’s Drama Room in 2016 and again for its New Talent Hotlist in 2017. From 2017-18 she was part of the Triforce Creative Network’s prestigious Writers’ Incubator. Janice is proud to have written Budding Rose’s first production, the wild, female-led Shakespearean comedy NetherBard, which premiered at the Hen & Chickens in 2017 and was staged again at Theatre N16 in 2018. She is currently developing a number of ideas for TV.
Jack graduated from LAMDA in 2016. Shortly after graduating he made his theatre debut in “punkplay” at the Southwark Playhouse. Since, he has worked alongside Ian Rickson workshopping “Against” for the Almeida Theatre, made his feature film debut in the upcoming “Boogie Man”, and performed in the critically acclaimed “31 Hours” at the Bunker Theatre. Jack’s most recent credit was in “The Universe, Ladies and Gentlemen” at Theatre N16. Jack took on the role of Xan/Xannie in Budding Rose Productions Drag Me Out at the Hen & Chickens Theatre.
Alice trained at East 15. Credits include Wakefield (Theatre N16), Wild at Heart: a Tennessee Williams Season (Pentameters Theatre), Thirst (The Space), Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons (Brighton Fringe & London venues), Widowers’ Houses (Shaw’s Corner), Inside Pussy Riot (Les Enfants Terribles at Saatchi Gallery), and Street Magic (The Bunker Theatre). Television credits include Doctors (BBC). Alice took on the role of Val in Budding Rose Productions Drag Me Out at the Hen & Chickens Theatre.
Chantelle graduated from The Royal Birmingham Conservatoire with a BA(Hons) in Acting. Credits include: Jane/Ensemble in an adaptation of ‘The cabinet of Dr. Caligari ‘ which toured Serbia and Budapest. She’s recently been involved in a short comedy sketch and I was supporting actress ‘Lacy’ in a short film. Credits whilst in training include Helen in ‘The cripple of Inishmaan’, Imogen in Kneehighs adaption of Cymbeline and Leni in ‘Judgement day’. Chantelle recently took on the role of Cas in Budding Rose Productions Drag Me Out at the Hen & Chickens Theatre.
Originally from Galway Ireland, Dylan is a recent graduate from the International School Of Screen Acting. After studying and working in theatre in Galway he decided to come to London to develop his skills in front of the camera. He is a two time best actor winner for his performances as Sharky in The Seafarer(2015) and Edward in Someone Who’ll Watch Over Me(2016) from the Irish Student Drama Association. Dylan recently took on the role of Moe/Bounce in Budding Rose Productions Drag Me Out at the Hen & Chickens Theatre.
Originally from Edinburgh, Katrina trained at East 15 Acting School. She landed her first professional role, playing Lady Macbeth at the Globe Theatre, returning the following year to play the Chorus in ‘Henry V’. Further Credits include; ‘Hot Mess’ (Lion and Unicorn) and new writing such as, ‘Baby Come Back’ (Leicester Square Theatre) and ‘After Penelope’ (White Bear Theatre). Katrina is the lead actress for ‘One More Stone Productions’ and can be seen in their award winning films including; ‘Miss Guided’ (Best Actress) and ‘Born to Run’ (Best Film). Katrina played Lena in both of Budding Rose Productions performances of NetherBard.
Lucinda is a recent graduate of London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. Since graduating she has featured in episode 2 of TNT’s ‘WILL’ and has acted in various commercials and a music video. She is currently playing ‘Lena’ in the new writing play ‘Happy Yet?’ at the Courtyard Theatre. Her LAMDA credits include Lucy in ‘Dracula’, Pepa in ‘Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown’, Nina in ‘The Seagull’, ‘The Tempest’ and ‘A Midsummer Nights Dream.’ Lucinda played Abby in both of Budding Rose Productions performances of NetherBard.
Rosemary trained at ALRA. She has recently finished a nationwide outdoor tour of ‘A Midsummer Nights Dream’ playing Hermia and Puck (Quantum Theatre). She has previously performed at Theatre N16 with OffTheWallCo and their original production of ‘Tracing Grace’ which also toured to The West Yorkshire Playhouse, Theatre 503 and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Her other theatre credits include: The Love of the Fireflies (HOME, Manchester) ROOST (North Wall Arts Centre) Burning Bridges, Valhalla (Theatre 503) The Annihilation of Jessie Leadbeater (Papatango/ALRA) Hansel and Gretal, Romeo and Juliet (Burnley Arts Centre) and The North Project (The Royal Exchange). Rosemary played Kate in both of Budding Rose Productions performances of NetherBard.
Tayla trained at Manchester School of Theatre. Her credits include; The Penetration Play (Above The Stag), Two Little Women and a Stage (Kings Head), Tenancy (Hampton Hill Theatre), Midsummer Nights Dream, Romeo & Juliet, The Tempest, Taming of the Shrew (Pendley Shakespeare Festival), Earthquakes in London, Behind the Scenes at the Museum, Blood Wedding (HOME Theatre, Manchester) Cinderella (Bridgewater Hall, Manchester) It Cant Happen Here (Blue Masque Theatre Company).
